As she steps into the White House as the nation's first African-American First Lady, Michelle Obama says she'll be a mother first. She's had her ups and downs in 2008, with some admiring her fashion sense and others dismissing her as an 'angry black woman.' Yet she has endured both the good and the bad with grace, poise, and unfailing warmth, and many are eagerly embracing her as a role model for women of color and mothers everywhere.
